Parks

Calgary is home to a large number of Parks and expansive green areas. With over 1200 kilometers of walking and cycling paths, you'll find yourself often beside the Bow or Elbow River. In south Calgary you can visit Fish Creek Provincial Park where you often spot deer or elk grazing on the grassland. Nose Hill Park in north Calgary has been left untouched so you can imagine what the homesteaders must have seen when Calgary was first settled. |

as "The Greatest Outdoor Show On Earth", the Calgary Stampede
creates a down home country party atmosphere that permeates the city for the
entire 10 days of the Stampede. From the first Stampede in 1912, the Calgary
Exhibition and Stampede has grown from a rodeo to a huge exhibition,
featuring artists from around the world, free flapjack breakfasts throughout
the city, and lots of country dancing. |

hours) aboard a real steam-powered train. Different themes are enacted
